Intro: Mourning for King Bhumibol Adulyadej
King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, the ninth monarch of the Chakri Dynasty, was the longest-reigning head of state in history. He ruled with righteousness, alleviating suffering and bringing happiness to every corner of Thailand. There was no place in the country he had not visited. Deeply beloved, he remained in the hearts of the Thai people for generations.
Concept of the Performance
This performance features the recitation of the Sepha poem (ballad-like recitation) alongside a Ranad Ek performance, expressing the deep mourning of the Thai people for their beloved King. The performance conveys wishes for His Majesty’s ascension to heaven and seeks his blessings to protect and bring peace and happiness to the Thai people forever.
